About Priscilla

PASSION, DRIVE, PERSERVERANCE AND BRUSH MILEAGE.

I am an Artist and I appreciate living my days Artfully.

I paint pictures, I draw, I make dolls, I write poetry, I crochet, I sew, …I just LOVE making and creating.

As an Artist, I am an observer of my world, translating into symbols my thoughts and feelings through creative actions. I am a person that has big emotions and feels very deeply and practicing creativity helps me to make sense of my World.

I have a big Love for my Natural World and I am in aww of Mother Nature and how it sustains us and supports our human bodies and minds. I am a person that loves to sing (loud), and dance (like no-ones watching), and cook darlishous nourishing homemade meals for my family. You might say I am a homebody at heart.

My World is my Muse. In my outer World I capture Sun-filled fruits and vegetables, moody Landscapes, my pets, portraits of loved ones, wildlife, plants and flowers. I honour a light footprint and love to showcase my treasures that I find rummaging through second hand shops in still life painting. I am enchanted by colour and Light filled patterns. I am dedicated to capturing my subject’s essence.

I also paint by capturing my inner World. My visceral Landscape. These paintings are created intuitively expressing through colours, lines, shapes and rhythms. As I layer my work, I refine my mark making and symbols and stories begin to emerge. I find beauty in the chaos.  I lose myself in the present moment. Time becomes invalid.

The painting process allows my stories to emerge. A non-linear process where tensions are resolved, and aesthetic Harmony is created. I finish the paintings feeling lighter, calmer and more attuned to myself and the world I live.

‘Art is food for the soul’ -John Sloan

Being an Artist I am an observer, always questioning, analysing, responding and finding connections and contrasts between the Universal language of Art and the life I see and feel.

An award-winning artist and art mentor, I have taught private art skills for over 10 years, guiding students to listening to their own intuition and encouraging new ways of seeing by learning the language of skills-based art. Seeing the broader benefits in myself and my students as a way to self-care, as a means to self-expression and a way to becoming more mindfully aware, led me to studying a Bachelor of Art Psychotherapy at the Ikon Institute.

My passion for using creativity is infectious and I have a desire to bring Creative practices to the broader community to encourage ways to self-empowerment and increase well-being. Combining my art skills and my new knowledge in Art Psychotherapy My goal is to use art and creativity to nurture the health and wellbeing of each individual by offering a variety of art experiences for young and old.

Priscillas Gallery is a reflection of my passions, my drive, my perseverance and is a representation of my brush mileage.
